St Martin of Tours Prayer Wheel
Our Prayer wheel requests are sent out by email and those that do not have access to email are called. Requests for prayer are sent to a large number of people, quickly and easily. An e-mail mailing list has been generated and the prayer requests are sent to everyone on the list.
The importance of a prayer wheel is that it helps us know who/what to pray for on behalf of others. Our prayer network receives both prayer requests and thanksgivings and are asked to pray for each request.
Anyone can make a request. The first name is given and a brief reason and/or date for prayer is submitted. Prayer requests are kept confidential to the prayer wheel group. Requests are gathered and emailed on a weekly basis at the beginning of the week unless there is an emergency. Requests remain on the list for two weeks.
We commit to pray each day for the names & known concerns during this two week period. Prayers will only be extended if a second request is made. Some names will be on a continuing list as indicated.
The following prayer has been used in some church intercessory prayer wheels and you may find this useful as you pray for others.
Spirit of the living God, present with us now; fill the body, mind, and Spirit of those we are asked to pray for; heal all that harms; and be with those who care for them in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen
If there are two persons praying, there are three. If three meet to pray, there are four praying. There is always one more than you can see.
